Community Involvement

Dedicating to Serving Our Community

Chad understands the importance of community involvement and providing residents the knowledge to help prevent crime. Deputies empower residents, churches, schools and organizations by providing them with crime prevention strategies and techniques. A well-informed, safety-minded public reduces criminal victimization and improves the quality of life.

The Sheriff started a Summer Youth Camp during his tenure.  The goal is for every child in the 5th, 6th or 7th grade to have an opportunity to attend camp at least once.  The camp includes team building and encourages positive relationships between the police and the community.  Children enjoy camping, swimming, and canoeing during day trips.

Vital Anti-Drug Programs

Realizing prevention is a key element in reducing the drug problem, Sheriff Cubbage fulfilled his campaign promise of re-implementing Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) in our county schools. Virginia Rules, a program helping middle and high schoolers develop skills needed to make sound decisions, is taught at the Sheriff’s Summer Youth Camp, created by Sheriff Cubbage in 2017.

He  established a full-time Drug Interdiction Team and added an additional Narcotic K9 and Handler.  He also assisted with the recent implementation of Drug Court offering qualifying individuals long-term drug treatment under court supervision.  Ultimately, drug courts reduce crime and affect real, positive change in people’s lives.   Sheriff Cubbage’s top priority is to continue battling the drug problem in Page County by adding an additional full-time narcotics investigator to the Drug Interdiction Team.

Having served on the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, Sheriff Cubbage has built strong relationships and reciprocity with a network of neighboring law enforcement agencies.  These relationships are key to staying informed on drug trends, interventions and vital tips on county border activity.

In addition, the Sheriff has assigned full-time School Resource Officers (SROs) to all Page County Public Schools and executed a Drone Team for Tracking Suspects, and Search and Rescue missions.

In an effort to better serve the community, Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) website, PageSheriff.com, has been redesigned and now includes an Anonymous Tips form where photos and video can be uploaded.  The PCSO facebook presence has increased to provide more transparency.

Sheriff Cubbage also started a partnership with the DEA to implement the DEA Task Force Officer Program within our county.
