A Strong Defender of the Second Amendment

Data shows minimal correlation between strict gun control laws and a reduction in violent crimes.  In my opinion, these restrictions act as a barrier between law-abiding citizens and their Constitutional right.  Instead of restricting gun rights, I believe that our communities can remain safe by funding and resourcing law enforcement, enacting and enforcing strong legal penalties for criminals, and permitting citizens to defend themselves.

Sheriff Chad Cubbage has joined several Virginia Sheriffs in supporting Second Amendment Sanctuaries in the Shenandoah Valley, including:

– Marched in Richmond with 2A Supporters

– Attended Shenandoah Valley 2A meetings

– Stood with Page County citizens, declaring Page County a 2A Sanctuary County in 2019

– Appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News to express concern and viewpoint

The Sheriff prides himself in being

“an agent to the Constitutional Rights of the People, not an agent to the Government’s infringements!”

Stewardship, Leadership and Innovation

The Page County Sheriff’s Office is among an elite group of law enforcement agencies having earned accreditation by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC).  This accreditation is considered perhaps the best measure of professionalism among law enforcement agencies.  Sheriff Cubbage’s approach to stewardship, leadership and innovation are reflected in his department’s receipt of 100% perfect annual scores from the Department of Correction (DOC) for the past 8 years.

The Sheriff’s leadership and innovation were also demonstrated when he founded the Page County Sheriff’s Foundation to monetarily assist with equipment purchases.
